Back Together!

So, there is just something about having your whole family together in one place.  Just your family and no one else!  There is a peace, a wholeness and a fullness of joy that comes with it.

So, this past weekend Michael came  home from Alaska and he was excited to be coming home and we were excited to have him back home again.

With the boys all older now, it is so wonderful to see them show love towards one another and to go out of their way to do things for each other.  Stephen had left earlier on Friday for St. George to play his first football game of the season against Dixie High School.  So, we decided to make a weekend of it and so we made reservations to stay there overnight.  So, after I got off work the rest of us drove to St. George to attend the game and spend the night.

The next morning we got up, had breakfast and headed to the Temple to do baptisms.  It was the first time our whole family had been in the temple together at the same time doing the same thing.  It was really special and just a bonding experience for all of us.  To know that each of us was worthy to be there preforming ordinances  was so rewarding to me.  I pray that this will always be the case.

We headed back for home again after that as Bryce had his first football game again back home that evening.

I am so thankful to have my family back together again!  Life is complete!

Summer is fading

I cant believe the summer is almost over already.  It has been a strange summer for me now that I am working.  I have had just a few days off this summer but they didnt feel very "summerish".  I wished that I had been able to take a trip to California.  That would have felt more like a vacation to me. Hopefully next spring or summer.

Bryce and Stephen have been keeping busy with football and camps and such.  And Mike of course has been working out of town during the week so it's been a little weird around here.  Mom left for Theresa's the beginning of this month.  She was a huge help around the house and luckily without Mike around to have to cook for, I've been able to keep up on the house even though I am working.

We are all looking forward to Michael coming home from Alaska.  He has had an interesting adventure there.  He is really looking forward to coming home though.  I am excited to talk to him and hear all about what he has learned this summer.  He is my big communicator! I love that about him.  He will be here to stay for the school year anyway.  He is thinking about transferring to another school next year and so I have a feeling this may be his last stretch at home.

Well, the boys start school in a couple of weeks already!  Stephen will be a senior this year as student body president and a captain on his football team.  Bryce starts his 9th grade year.  I can not believe it.  Before I know it Stephen will be leaving on a mission.  But he needs to get a job and earn some money this summer and then get a year of school in before then.  It's gonna be a busy year.  I am looking forward to our expenses going down with Stephen out of high school.  He is an expensive teenager!

Mike continues to work his butt off.  Always busy doing something productive.  He is such an inspiration to me.  He has always been a man to respect and admire in my eyes.  I am very blessed to have him in my life!

I continue to love my job and am so thankful that it is so uplifting as I serve other people there.  I am also working as an advisor in yw so I get to be around the girls and teach them a couple of times a month.

So, summer is fading and fall is upon us again.  So, much to do and so much to look forward to.  I love my family more than words can say and I can feel the ability to slow down and take it all in these days.  I have truly been blessed with the joy of watching my children grow and walk in righteousness.  Even as I strive to overcome my own personal trials and weakness they continue to give me strength and hope for the future.
