November catch ups!

Well, football season finally ended for the Red Devils when they lost in the semi-finals to Highland H.S. last week.  Stephen had the rare and awesome opportunity to sing the national anthem at the last 3 games of the season.  This picture was taken at the last game vs Highland at the U of U stadium.  It was great to hear his name announced over the loud speaker!  Springville did have a great season but we really wanted that Championship...well,Better luck next year Springville!

Mike and Bryce attended Bryce's football awards banquet last Saturday where he recieved a trophy for his participation on the S.O.S. Springville Bears team.  This is he and Coach Houtz.  They had a great season.

I had a great visit with Christin and her kids in Ogden last week.  She asked me to come and speak to her Relief Society sisters at their activity.  (I know she was just looking for an excuse to get me up there...and it worked lol!).  I havent seen her for about 6 years.  Her oldest is 6 now.  This was the first time I had ever met her adorable kids.  I had a great time there.  Seeing her again was like we never missed a beat.
 Stayed up til 2am yacking!

Mike and I had the great opportunity to attend the opening and reading of Brittany Brooks mission call a couple of weeks ago.  It was such a neat experience.  Brittany is very special to us.  She is the first girl Michael ever dated so she spent quite a bit of time in our home.  It was great to see her excitement and enthusiasm for serving a mission . She was called to the Brazil Londrina Mission.
She will be a great servant of the Lord!

Stephen wanted me to make sure and mention that he put the mailbox back up after someone knocked it over and broke it.  Grandpa cut another piece of wood to mount it and Stephen did the job. Wow Stephen! We're impressed.....

This is one of my favorites.  Grandpa, Dad, and the boys outside after the house had been cleared off the property.  They are measuring and getting ready to section off where the house will be built.  I loved seeing all the men out there doing that together.  So, exciting!

Bryce made sure I took a picture of his injury.
Although I didnt get pictures of all the blood.
On Saturday night Bryce went to a birthday party and they went ice skating in Provo.  He unfortunately fell on the ice....face first!  There was plenty of blood and his nose was certainly swollen.  He did not break it, but I think he might have sprained it a bit.  Bryce already has sinus problems so I am waiting to see if this has made it worse or better.  Poor guy.  I've been waiting to see if he would end up with black eyes...not yet.
I know that is one sign of a broken nose...

And last but not least, the excavation for the foundation of the house has begun!

And there's our neighbor Brian helping Dad out yesterday with the excavation.
He definately wanted his picture taken....he is somewhat of a ham...can ya tell?

So, life at the Nelson's is busy and we are plugging right along.
Looking forward to the Holidays and lots of fun with family and friends!
 Have a great day!

After 2 long years

Well, it finally happened!  After 2 long and very interesting years, Mike has landed a good job with a good company.  Miller General Contractors is based out of Provo, Utah and is a family run commercial construction company.  Mike started work for them yesterday as a superintendent on a job in Elberta, Utah.  It is a project they are doing for the church.  It is a motion picture set where they will film new testament stories..so, it is pretty exciting if you ask me:)
Blessings have come our way by way of a job this time.  Kind of interesting timing as we are also in the process of beginning the building of a new home.  But, isn't that the way it always goes?  That is life.  Well, it will all get done.  Things always seem to work out...right? We truly have been greatly blessed in our lives over the last 2 years, by way of trials and the blessings that follow.  Thanks to our wonderful family and great friends for all of the love and support you have given us.
This life is always a learning and growing experience...
and we are so blessed to get to be a part of it!

First wrestling match for Bryce

Last night we attended Bryce's first wrestling match.
It was held at Maple Mountain High School
and they wrestled against Wasatch.
So, there is Bryce in the red waitng his turn.

This wrestling thing is all new to us.
So, I guess they get 3 2 minute rounds to try and beat their opponent.
By the 3rd round Bryce had pinned his opponent!
It was awesome and he we red and tired.
Pretty good for his first time.
Way to go Bryce!

Finally tearing it down

Well, you might say that Dad has been a little bit anxious to tear down the house since he has been taking the siding off for a week now and the renter has still been in it!.

So today he got up and went over there to see if he was still there and he had finally moved out!

So, Mom, Dad, Me, Mike and Brad spent the day clearing the place out and filling the trucks with junk ie..cabinets, counter tops, walls, appliances etc.

I think Dad is gonna sleep really good tonight.  He hasnt worked that hard in a while.  He is just so excited though that he just couldn't tear himself away.  He says this is the last house is gonna build...sniff, sniff:(

Mike tore up the kitchen.  I wish I had gotten a picture of Mom tearing the ceiling out...She is quite the woman!  Mike was teasing her about keeping track of all the expenses and reporting to him daily. Mom just said, "you know what you can kiss"....I cracked up and wished my kids were there to hear her.  They think I'm bad?  They need to hang around Grandma Nelson more!!!
We are having fun now!!!

The most exciting game of the year!

Well, it finally happened...the game we have all been waiting for!

Springville

VS
Timpview

It was a nail-biter game just like we thought it would be!   Timpview scored first in the first quarter.  Then Springville caught up and scored in the second quarter.  Then it was any mans game.  But in the latter half of the second quarter Springville scored again and again.  So, we were way on top and into half time.
Then 3rd quarter Timpview tried to come back and they did score agian.  But by the 4th quarter we had BEAT the PANTS off of them!  Our guys were on Fire!  It was awesome!  WE had 2 or 3 interseptions, a few very long runs to make some awesome touch downs and some awesome passes!. These REd Devils were NOT going to let those Thunderbirds beat them on their BC #30 Field!
 It was incredible.
Those boys rocked!

I am so proud to be parent of a player of this awesome team! Stephen played maybe 30 seconds in the game....but in the future he and his sophomore buddies will be the guys to beat!

It was such an emotional game that I cried a few times....never thought I would cry at a Football GAme!!
This town has so much Spirit....it is exciting and amazing! I love it!

The Curtis's were there and they were very emotional. Springville did it!
The did for all of us and they did it for BC #30!

GO RED DEVILS!
