Finally tearing it down

Well, you might say that Dad has been a little bit anxious to tear down the house since he has been taking the siding off for a week now and the renter has still been in it!.

So today he got up and went over there to see if he was still there and he had finally moved out!

So, Mom, Dad, Me, Mike and Brad spent the day clearing the place out and filling the trucks with junk ie..cabinets, counter tops, walls, appliances etc.

I think Dad is gonna sleep really good tonight.  He hasnt worked that hard in a while.  He is just so excited though that he just couldn't tear himself away.  He says this is the last house is gonna build...sniff, sniff:(

Mike tore up the kitchen.  I wish I had gotten a picture of Mom tearing the ceiling out...She is quite the woman!  Mike was teasing her about keeping track of all the expenses and reporting to him daily. Mom just said, "you know what you can kiss"....I cracked up and wished my kids were there to hear her.  They think I'm bad?  They need to hang around Grandma Nelson more!!!
We are having fun now!!!

The most exciting game of the year!

Well, it finally happened...the game we have all been waiting for!

Springville

VS
Timpview

It was a nail-biter game just like we thought it would be!   Timpview scored first in the first quarter.  Then Springville caught up and scored in the second quarter.  Then it was any mans game.  But in the latter half of the second quarter Springville scored again and again.  So, we were way on top and into half time.
Then 3rd quarter Timpview tried to come back and they did score agian.  But by the 4th quarter we had BEAT the PANTS off of them!  Our guys were on Fire!  It was awesome!  WE had 2 or 3 interseptions, a few very long runs to make some awesome touch downs and some awesome passes!. These REd Devils were NOT going to let those Thunderbirds beat them on their BC #30 Field!
 It was incredible.
Those boys rocked!

I am so proud to be parent of a player of this awesome team! Stephen played maybe 30 seconds in the game....but in the future he and his sophomore buddies will be the guys to beat!

It was such an emotional game that I cried a few times....never thought I would cry at a Football GAme!!
This town has so much Spirit....it is exciting and amazing! I love it!

The Curtis's were there and they were very emotional. Springville did it!
The did for all of us and they did it for BC #30!

GO RED DEVILS!

Boys will be Boys!

Bryce is having a good time wrestling these days.  He goes directly from school each day to wrestling practice.  We then pick him up at 5:30 and then he comes home....very hungry.
His coach is always teaching the boys the best way to learn and to apply what they learn in life.
He told the boys to go home and teach their moves to someone and then to write them down and then practice, practice practice!

So, this is what we get....Bryce and Dad trying to take eachother down.
Tonight we attended Bryce's Student Lead conference at his school.  He is doing really well in all of his classes too.  We are pretty proud of Bryce and all that he is accomplishing in Middle School.
My fears about middle school so far are not warranted.  However, there is always 8th grade and that will be another story.
But for now I am enjoying his progress and his hard work.

Springville High School's Football Varsity team is in playoffs now.

Last week they played Olympus High School and kicked their butts!
Tomorrow is the BIG ONE....Timpview High School!!!
Last year we lost to Timpview in the 4A State Championship game .
So, needless to say they are the team that they have been practicing all year to beat...
Stephen says it is the only game that coach Mitchell really cares about...and it is here now!

So, stay tuned...
Boys will be Boys!

Meet The Robinson's

Mom with Dan and Darcie Robinson

Stephen, Bryce, Jensyn, Bryce and Kaitlyn

The Robinson's came to visit this past weekend from Arizona and we had a blast!
Dan and Darcie were friends of Mike's brother Bryce many years ago in their young single adult days.  When Bryce passed away Dan and Darcie kept in close touch with the family and became like family.  They named their first child after him and they have always called Mike's parents Mom and Dad.  Then Mike and I got married and I met Darcie and we hit it off like two peas in a pod!  We have a blast together!  Now their kids call us Aunt and Uncle and the kids are like cousins so when we get together it is like one big happy family!  Their son Bryce just came home from a mission to Chile.  He and Michael are 1 year apart.  We all lived in Fremont when I just had Michael and Darcie had Bryce and Kaitlyn.  Those were the good old days.  They have since moved to Arizona but we have kept in close touch and have had visits from them in  California.  It was great seeing them again this past weekend!
And now we find out that they are thinking about moving to back to Utah.  Yay!

It's so weird how I have never lived in Utah my whole life and since
I've been here it's like going home!  So many of the people I love most are right here!

Love ya Darc!

Happy Halloween 2010

NELSON  ANNUAL  HALLOWEEN  PARTY!

Grandma Nelson held her annual Halloween Party and everyone had a great time! Everyone brought soups to eat and desserts...it was yummy!  Jamie did face painting and she also had cupcake frosting.  Grandma had a doughnut eating contest and also the treasure hunt!  This year she did not burry the treasure but instead the treasure was found in a trunk in her garage.  The kids had a great time and so did the adults!

Okay, so this year Halloween was a a hodgepodge of people just being goofy!  The boys were really not that into dressing up this year.  But I did get them to throw on some goofy things and take pictures.  I guess Mike was a "Springville Hippie", Stephen and a couple of his football buddies posed for me before they went off to a party.   Bryce just threw on the wig and beanie and I thought his was the best!  I dressed up as "Mumsy the Witch"...oh fun times.  So, sad Halloween is over!  I love to play dress-up!
Til next year!!

Springville Mens Chorus

Last night we attended the first Springville High School Choir Concert for the year.  Stephen is in the Men's Chorus.  One of the reasons we were so excited to move here is because Stephen has the opportunity to do both sports and music as well.  That was not a choice for him in Elk Grove.  Mainly because the school he was attending and playing football for did not offer a chorus or choir class.  We had the hardest time trying to decide wether he should transfer to Sheldon for music or stay at PG for sports.  So, he has been so excited about this!  He said that when some of his football buddies found out that he was in the Mens chorus they laughed and others thought it was cool.  Not that it matters to Stephen.  He is very much an individual with a healthy self-esteem lol! (he definately does not lack in that area :).

The concert was held at Maple Mountain High School with the 2 High Schools choir's combined. It was quite a sight to behold.  There were massive amounts of kids in these 2 choirs.  In fact, with just the 2 high school choirs, there were as many or more kids than there were when we attended the EGUSD entire District Concerts where all of the High Schools performed.  And the pianist's were many of the kids in the choir who were extremely talented.  They took turns playing the peices that the choirs sang.  And the Choir directors ,I would put all of them in the same category as Hebert, probably not as fun (lol)... but just as talented!

The Men's Chorus was amazing!  I am so proud that Stephen is a member of this group of singers.  It was interesting how the choir directors each took turns directing the kids on different peices.  These boys sounded amazing together.  They did a really cute number that reminded me of the large college men's acapella group that performed on the "Sing Off" last year.  They were cute and funny and entertaining.  I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Stephen had a great time being part of the group.  I always cry when I hear my kids sing.  They love to sing and it shows!  I talked to one of his choir directors last night and she thanked me for moving here... she said "let's keep Stephen singing...he has a great talent!" I thought that was sweet.
I Love, Love, Love listening to my kids sing!

Love being a Mom

Tonight I just have to stop a minute and say how much I love my kids and being a Mom!  Today Mike and I spent the entire day together just taking care of business and getting some things that the kids need and just being together.  Then we attended a parent meeting for Wrestling.  Yep! Bryce is going to try wrestling!  Can you believe it?  I am so excited for him!  It seems the boys have tried just about every sport now and I am really excited for Bryce because this is something that neither one of his older brothers have done.  My brother Eddie, just a year older than me, used to wrestle in high school and he was really really good.  So, it will be fun to see what Bryce can do.

Stephen is a bit stressed these days because football is over and we are making him skip winter sports this year so that he can concentrate on his scouting.  Football took up all of his time this fall and now it is time to get serious and finish he scouting if he is gonna be able to focus on sports any more in the future.  It was just too hard when he was playing for all 3 teams, to fit anything else in.  He also has his drivers liscence to work towards so he has a lot to do.

With Halloween just around the corner, it has been so much fun to think about those years past and how adorable my boys were ... still are.  In fact I have been so busy thinking about the past halloweens that we havent taken the time to decide what we are gonna dress up as this year....any suggestions?  As I have been busy getting all of our past halloween pictures together it has motivated me to get some of my scrapbooking done at the same time.  In fact I have finally been able to decide how I am going to organize all of my pictures so now I am on a scrapbooking binge!  Starting with a Halloween Scrapbook.  Next I need to tackle Michael's Mission scrapbook and then it is on to a Christmas Scrapbook.  I love it!

Tonight we finally came home and had dinner and by the time we all settled down we just laughed and goofed around together. Well, off I go to do some more looking thru pictures and reminiscing about how darling those boys of mine were.  I just love being their Mom!
